Drag and drop vision tools and graphics palette along with menu-driven tool property sheets makes job configuration simpler. There are easy ways to depict the dependency of the tools with each other. Lighting
In order to achieve the highest quality images possible, We offers a wide array of light modules including direct, diffused on axis, cloudy day, rings, spots, and bar lighting.
The Brick Light is a compact LED array typically used for direct lighting applications. An optional diffuser allows it to be used as a backlight making it one of the most versatile lights available.
When basic lighting works for the application, integrated ring lights are ideal for In-Sight vision systems. Easily mounted directly to the vision system, these lights provide basic front lighting without having to purchase and install a separate light. Integrated ring lights are available in red LEDs, red diffuse LEDs, and white LEDs.
I/O Module
The I/O Breakout Module provides easy connection of In-Sight systems to power, acquisition triggers, outputs, and serial devices. I/O Expansion Modules increase the number of I/O points available to In-Sight systems, and provide full RS232 handshaking.

Ideal for Multi-Camera Applications
GEVA is a high-performance industrial controller that offers excellent cost savings for multi-camera vision applications, such as final inspection of large assemblies. As the name implies, GEVA provides expandable Gigabit Ethernet camera interfaces that significantly drive down system cost.
At the heart of GEVA is a powerful dual core processor, equipped with high-speed memory resources to tackle the most demanding applications. Two dedicated camera ports are provided, each with enough bandwidth to easily support eight 640x480 mono cameras imaging parts at 60 per second. The camera ports are compatible with a wide range of mono or color, area and line scan GigE cameras in a range of resolutions.
Aside from camera interfacing, GEVA provides a number of external interfaces for system integration. It includes dedicated display and USB ports for setup and runtime control, a third Gigabit Ethernet port and a serial port for factory communication, dedicated trigger inputs for inspection timing, dedicated strobe outputs for lighting control and optoisolated I/O for associated equipment interfacing.

DALSAs Genie cameras combine standard gigabit Ethernet technology with DALSAs Trigger to Image Reliability framework to dependably capture and transfer images from the camera to the host PC. CX Range
General Compact Photoelectric Sensor
Basic photoelectric sensors with over 116 different models for wide application coverage
The CX-400 series of photoelectric sensors is a wide-ranging lineup of 116 different models. Whatever your application entails, Panasonic has covered it with this series. Built to IP-67 standards, the CX-400 series is designed for the most demanding environments.
There are also models that are specifically design for resistance to oil, coolant, or ethanol. Couple this with high electrical noise resistance and a built in interference prevention function, and you have one of the most robust sensors on the market.
The CX-400 series is compact in size (W11.2mm x H31.0mm x D20.0mm) with a world standard mounting pitch of 25.4mm. Wiring options include a M8 quick disconnect, M12 quick disconnect, or built-in wire type with a length of 0.5mm, 2m, or 5m.
High precision optics as well as high performance circuitry provides extremely stable sensing for determining small height differences, detecting transparent objects, and subtle color differences. Also, the series offers a high luminance beam spot that achieves long distances and can be as small as 2mm in diameter for detection of minute objects.
Four sensing types are available;
Diffuse Reflective
Available in 100, 300, and 800mm detecting distance models, along with a narrow view type that has a 2mm diameter beam spot.
Thru-beam
Available in 10m and a longest in its class 15m detecting distance models. The ultra long range 15m version is made possible by utilizing a powerful infrared LED light source which is great for powering through dust and dirt as well.
Retro-Reflective
Standard models are available in 3 and 5m detecting distance types. Specialized models for transparent object detection are also available in 0.5 and 2m detecting distances.
Adjustable Range Reflective
Available in 50, 100, and 300m detecting distance models, with the addition of a 2mm diameter small beam spot type. These sensors also incorporate foreground suppression and background suppression functions to limit the effect of unwanted detection.
All types are available with NPN or PNP transistor outputs.
FX-300 Range
Digital Fibre Optic Sensors
High performance operation for high speed and precision applications
The FX-300 series of digital fiber optic sensors offers a wide range of sensing possibilities in a compact, high-performance unit. Three types are available for optimal application coverage including the standard type (FX-301), high-function type (FX-305), and the high-speed type (FX-301-HS).
The FX-300 series was designed around ease of use. The incorporation of a user-friendly jog-dial simplifies operation and maintenance. Beginners and advanced users alike will benefit from the intuitive programming and operation, thus, keeping the learning curve to a minimum.
Mode NAVI: Six easy-to-see indicators surround the main display allowing quick and easy confirmation of the operating mode. Also, the threshold value can be conveniently checked at the touch of a button.
Key Lock Function: The key lock function is a very useful feature in avoiding accidental changes to the sensor settings. The jog switch as well as the mode button is disabled to prevent any unwanted modifications.
Easy maintenance
Panasonic has developed several new features/accessories that simplify sensor maintenance so you spend less time configuring the sensor and more time using it.
New Communication Unit: The new SC-GU1-485 communication unit allows for complete remote access to sensor settings. Functions such as teaching and data bank switching can now be performed via a PLC. All sensor attributes, including incident light readings and threshold values, can also be conveniently checked without requiring access to the sensor amplifier. This is great for applications where the sensor may not be easily accessible for maintenance operations. The RS-485 based communication unit allows for 16 sensors per node, and up to 31 nodes. It is now possible to remotely control up to 496 sensors!
Easy Wiring: The easy quick-connect wiring of the FX-300 series allows for any unit to be set up as a main or a sub unit, simply by changing the wire. The removable wiring also salvages the sensor in the event that the wiring is accidentally severed. This allows the user to just replace the wire, not the entire sensor.
Optical Communication Function: The optical communication function makes it easy to copy settings to up to 16 sensors connected together. This saves the time of setting up each sensor individually.
Quick Set-Up Code: Restoring settings has never been easier than with the quick set-up code that is built into the FX-300 series. Once initial set-up is completed, write down the four digit code and in the event that sensor settings are reset, the user can quickly restore the sensor back to operation.
EX Range
Miniature Photoelectric Sensors
Ultra slim photoelectric sensors that are great for embedded applications
The EX-10 series is one of the smallest sensors on the market today. The ultra small size allows for mounting in the smallest areas. The size is achieved by locating all of the electronics and controls in an in-line amplifier. A bright 2-color indicator on the sensor head allows for quick determination of the sensor state.
The EX-10 series is also equipped with a 0.5ms response time for high-speed detection and an IP-67 rated housing for wash-down environments. The mounting options available include a front sensing type as well as a side sensing type. Each type has two, metal reinforced M3 mounting holes for stable sensor placement. All types are available as either Light ON or Dark ON and PNP or NPN.
The EX-20 series reaches the pinnacle of sensor miniaturization. By fabricating the photodiode and the A/D conversion circuit on the same chip, Panasonic has achieved one of the smallest built-in amplifier sensors in the world. With integrated sensitivity adjustment, the EX-20 series is great for use as an all-purpose sensor. Even though the sensor is extremely small, the sensing distance is not compromised. Up to a 2m detection distance is possible with the thrubeam type, 200mm with the retro-reflective type, and 160mm for the diffuse reflective type. A visible red beam spot allows for easy confirmation of alignment. Also, the LED used in the EX-20 series provides a high-power, narrow beam that can produce a spot as small as 1mm in diameter. This is great for the detection of small objects such as chip components or wires.The mounting options available include a front sensing type as well as a side sensing type. Each type has two, metal reinforced M3 mounting holes for stable sensor placement. All types are available as either Light ON or Dark ON and PNP or NPN.
The EX-30 series of photoelectric sensors offers a fresh new alternative to traditional fiber optic sensors. Unparalleled in its ease of installation, this sensor is highly effective for basic production line sensing. The design of this sensor has been simplified to offer a fully integrated solution in a package that only needs one anchor point. The sensing element is threaded to allow mounting through a 4 or 6mm size hole by utilizing a "nut and bolt" type screw mount. The sensing axis is the same as the center of the mounting hole, making placement on your assembly line incredibly easy. The EX-30 is offered in thrubeam and diffuse reflective types both of which have available sensitivity adjustment built in. The thrubeam type has a long-range version that senses up to 800mm and the diffuse reflective type has a sensing distance of 50mm.
VF Range
Multi-Voltage Photoelectric Sensors
AC/DC photoelectric sensors with terminal/conduit connection and relay contact output
The VF series is a multi-voltage photoelectric sensor with a convenient terminal block that offers quick and easy connection. Because of the free-range voltage input, this series can be used with a power supply from 24 to 240 VAC or 12-240VDC. The VF series is characterized by long sensing distances up to 10m and has three available built-in timer functions for simple output control.
Three sensing styles are represented by the VF series: diffuse reflective, retro-reflective, and thrubeam. Also, the VF-PRM3 sensor utilizes polarized optics for specialized detection of shiny objects. All types contain one form a relay output.
PM Range
Micro Photoelectric Sensor
U shaped micro photoelectric sensors for limit sensing applications
The ultra-small PM series of u-shaped photoelectric sensors provides a wide range of 29 different models to suit any of your application needs. With the industry's smallest size, the PM series plays a key role in the miniaturization of your equipment. All models are equipped with two outputs, one for Light-ON and the other for Dark-ON sensing.
This increases the versatility of the sensor for use in existing applications. The series is also available in a connector type to maximize ease of installation and allow for wire replacement if the cable is severed. The PM series conforms to the European EMC Directive and carries UL Recognition. Both NPN and PNP transistor output models are available.
SF4B Range
Type 4 Light Curtain
High functionality, IP67, type 4 light curtain with 10, 20 or 40mm beam pitch and universal 14ms response time
With the SF4B series of safety light curtains, Panasonic has built off of the successful features of previous models to create an easily integrated, full featured light curtain, all within one of the smallest packages on the market.
The no dead zone design ensures that the light curtain can be placed on the inside frame of your machine, thus creating a more efficient integration, with less potential for damage to the unit from an external source.
The SF4B light curtain is available in three standard types;
Finger Protection Type: Minimum sensing object size of 14mm (0.551") with a beam pitch of 10mm.
Hand Protection Type: Minimum sensing object size of 25mm(0.984") with a beam pitch of 20mm.
Arm/Foot Protection Type: Minimum sensing object size of 45mm (1.772") with a beam pitch of 40mm.
All types can be freely wired to provide either NPN or PNP transistor outputs.
The SF4B series has a universal 14ms response time, regardless of the number of channels, the beam axis pitch, or the number of units connected in series. The result is a simplification of the calculation work involved in setting safety distances on your machine.
The response time, coupled with the ultra small beam pitch of the finger protection type, allows for installation of the light curtain much closer to danger point than a conventional model.
Built in Safety Circuit with Muting/Blanking
By integrating all functions into the light curtain itself, no longer is there a need for expensive safety relay units or muting/blanking modules.
The on-board controller supports standard functions such as floating blanking, fixed blanking, and whole curtain muting. New to the SF4B is a Panasonic exclusive, channel select muting function which allow for the user to partially mute the curtain if the object that is passing through does not take up the entire length of the curtain. Also included is a muting override function that allows for easy removal of the work piece in the event that power is lost during muting.
All muting/blanking functions are easily configured using the SFB-HC Handy Controller. In addition, the SFB-HC can also control the light emission intensity, password protect against unauthorized changes, and easily copy settings to other light curtains.
DP2 Range
Self-Contained Pressure Sensor
All-in-one pressure sensor for basic pressure sensing applications
The DP2 series of pressure sensors offers a high-resolution, high-speed, and high-accuracy solution for all of your pressure sensing needs. A 2.5ms response time is achieved with excellent repeatability and temperature characteristics. A 10mm red LED display allows for good visibility in bright and dim ambient conditions. Simple key setup allows for quick initialization and threshold value settings.
The display can be changed between six pressure units, allowing flexibility in many applications. The DP2 series incorporates 2 comparative outputs (NPN or PNP) as well as one analog output.
GX and GL Ranges
Cylindrical Inductive Proximity Sensor
3-Wire inductive proximity sensors with smaller available head diameters in threaded or non threaded styles
The GX series of compact inductive proximity sensors is a high-performance, easy to use solution for your metal detection needs. It features a robust mounting area that has been improved to accept a higher tightening torque than that of conventional models. The series features simple a 3-wire DC hookup for quick integration.
In addition, the wiring is highly flexible so it is suitable for applications where repeated motion will occur. A bright, orange indicator at the base of the sensor provides the user with easy verification of the output status. A wide range of units is available from the ultra-thin GX-3S(B), just 3.8mm in diameter, to the compact but long-range GX-8ML(B), with a 2mm detecting distance.
Rectangular Inductive Proximity Sensor
Compact rectangular proximity sensors available in 2 and 3-wire configurations
The GL-8U series satisfies the need for a low price inductive proximity sensor. It is recommended to large volume users for cost reduction.
A wide variety of 16 types are available. This includes front/top-sensing types, normally open/normally closed types, and an alternate frequency type, which allows close mounting of multiple sensors.
The GL-8U series is equipped with an operation indicator (orange) for quick verification of the output status. Also, the sensor has IP67 protection, so it can withstand contact with water.
